Carrie thought about Lacey all night long. She didn't fall asleep until sometime after three in the morning. Tomorrow would be dreadful. But then again, it was already tomorrow, and it hadn't started off too bad. When Carrie woke up, she realized she had ten minutes before school started! She got dressed as fast as possible, and left without breakfast. Big mistake. She arrived in time, but by the end of first period, her stomache was growling. Then she saw Lacey, and she forgot all about her stomache. "Lace!" she called. Lacey ignored her, and walked over to her locker. As she reached it, a crowd of girls circled around her. Oh no, bullies! Thought Carrie, but it was quite the opposite. "Lacey you are SO cool!" one girl said. "We are so lucky to hang out with you!" said another. "That Carrie girl doesn't know what she lost! The best friend ever!" At that, Carrie marched towards the group. "Hi Lacey!" She said loudly and angrily. "Carrie? What do you want? Is something wrong?" Lacey asked. "Yeah, as a matter of fact--" "Oh Carrie!" one of Carrie's new friends, Laina, called. "Gotta go Lace!" Carrie said, running off. The girl continues to chat as Carrie ran to Laina and the others. Marris, the tall dark haried one who played the piano amazingly, and loved tennis, spoke up about the touch subject, "Who um...is that GIRL you were talking to?" she asked. "Oh my OLD friend but she is SO lame! I was telling her that we are so done!" Carrie said laughing. The girls looked at Lacey carefully. "Really, she seems like a cool person, maybe she wants to join our--" "NO!" Carrie interupted. "Why?" Asked Katlin, the blond genius. "Because she ah...well we are in a fight..." she said. "Over what?" Tally asked. "Um...she wants me to be goth because she says I am not cool the way I am now..." Carrie lied. Now she was making Lacey seem like the bad guy. "Oh well that is MEAN!" Laina said. The others agreed. "So let's go!" Marris called, halfway down the hall. As she entered science, Carrie felt utterly misrable.
